Brief
Design an online wishing platform that grants a wish every 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Crowdwish was a project for social good which ran for 1400 days between 06.01.2014 and 08.11.2017. On every one of those days it helped a member of the public get closer to their most cherished hope, ambition or desire.
Creative Concept
When wishes crossed my mind, I instantly pictured rainbows and Aladdin's lamp—a glimpse into childhood's magical perspective on desires. Yet, this platform wasn't for child's play; it was crafted for adults to chase their dreams, however modest they might be. I aimed to infuse the design with that enchanting essence—think rainbows, genie-in-a-lamp magic, and a font of joy.
Unleashing the Genie's Lamp
Infused with nostalgia and a dash of obviousness, I forged a logo centred around the legendary Aladdin's lamp. The true magic of a standout logo lies in its instant recognition, and I harnessed the lamp's powerful symbolism - semiotics. As users lock eyes with this emblem, their purpose becomes clear in an instant—a dynamic fusion of symbol and intent.
Our Radiant Rainbow

I deliberately steered clear of excessive saturation—no small feat when encompassing the entire spectrum of hues. My aim was to craft a modern and bold palette.
This conscious curation did not compromise impact; rather, it intensified it. These carefully chosen colours seamlessly adapt to various web devices, ensuring both accessibility and impact.
The Essence of Wonders
Wishing, it’s as diverse as stardust in the cosmos, an ethereal dance unique to each heart. It transcends mere desire; it becomes tangible, a manifestation from the universe itself.
The vision? Wishes that mirror cosmic birth—stars ignited in nebulous dreams. We birthed abstract forms using inks in water captured at the macroscopic.
Creating Art
My artist studio became a realm of experimentation. In a dance of ink meeting water, I sought to craft ethereal nebulas that encapsulated the very essence of wishes.
Chromatic Revolution
Imagine waking up to a brand-new every day. The entire site, across all devices, would explode with vibrant colours, leaving an impact that's nothing short of magic. This is the true essence of a responsive website—a revolution of hues that adapts and captivates, every single day.
